Low Cost = High Cost

Grenfell Tower is only the most tragic of very many Social Housing Schemes constructed in the years before the Thatcher Government where general underfunding followed by a neglect of maintenance blighted what should have been an Asset for the whole Nation. A subsequent demolition of many schemes to increase the amount of accommodation in what were generally schemes that provided plenty of light-and-=air between buildings only exacerbated such generally bad treatment.
