Modern Architecture at its best was always intended to cut-across mere ideas of style but was intended to grow out of the needs of the time – and, hence, be ‘timeless’. As a concept this may be difficult to grasp as an alternative to the intentions of ‘style’ which may intend more to shock by ‘being different’ to what has ‘previously gone before’. Since it could be thought to be impossible for something to ‘come from nowhere’, striving for anything more than a modest ‘Change of Style’ is probably always be doomed to failure. After all how could any of us design for a new planet about which we have no information whatsoever?
